Explore the art of colorful glass by learning how to fuse and slump glass in a kiln. You will learn the basic skills to make glass plates, coasters, bowls, or other fused and slumped glass creations. Start out by learning glass cutting and shaping basics, then compose your glass pieces into forms that will be fused in the kiln. Fused pieces may be slumped in ceramic molds to form bowls and other three-dimensional pieces. Students will purchase their own fusing glass (different than stained glass) and supplies. Sources and choices are discussed at the first class. Glass work will be fired in Sawtooth's kilns. Advanced students may explore more challenging pieces and techniques. Class size limited to just six students ages 16 through adult, so sign up early! Masks and social distancing are required in this and all Sawtooth classes.
