Learn the special touch that turquoise takes to coax the beauty from this popular stone. You’ll start with rough or slabs of turquoise, design and trim the shape and use a cabbing machine to shape and polish beautiful turquoise cabochons. Learn when and how to use backing material and explore several different shape cuts during this course, concentrating on non-calibrated and freeform shapes. CabKing cabbing machines are used, and the class is limited to four students, one for each machine. All levels. No experience is required. Rising Phoenix Turquoise rough material is available to purchase from the instructor during class or you may bring your own material. Other supplies are included in the fee. Class open to ages 16 through adult. Masks and social distancing are required in this and all Sawtooth classes. Note: This class will not meet on 11/27/20, the Friday after Thanksgiving.
