Learn to combine your metal clay skills into one cohesive statement necklace. In this class, Carrie will discuss basic clay sculpting techniques and tools. Working with wet clay techniques, students will make three fine silver components with a twig theme. Each component will be sculpted from very small elements to create a cohesive pattern. After firing, Carrie will review finishing the elements with sterling chain and findings. Students will learn a super fast method to fuse argentium wire jumprings to close the joined elements. The final step will be setting the rough semi-precious gemstones in the necklace.
All experience levels are welcome.
A kit fee of $70 will be collected by the instructor during the workshop. Kit includes: 15g PMC3, sterling chain and clasp, argentium wire, a selection of gemstone chips and use of materials and tools.
