Plants have always been a vital subject in drawings and paintings. Plants make a great subject for studying light, shadow, and texture. This drawing class will explore various approaches to drawing a potted plant that the students will bring to class from home each Tuesday (a plant can be provided if necessary). We will be using pencil, charcoal, conte crayons and colored pencils. Deepen your connection to your botanical friend! A supply list will be provided.

Duncan has been sculpting for over 30 years, and has created several large-scale outdoor public sculptures and fountains in Winston-Salem. He works in wood, metal, stone, clay and concrete. He maintains a foundry, and has taught at Penland, WSSU and Salem College. www.duncanglewis.com
