The timeless art form of mosaics is fun and easy to learn. In this two-Saturday workshop use materials such as stained glass and vitreous tiles as you design and create a 9” x 12” piece for interior use. We will meet two times, and you’ll have the luxury of one week to continue work at home if you don’t finish the initial steps during day one. Sue will cover design, substrates and adhesives the first class, and you’ll learn the steps to creating tesserae (the basic unit of mosaic) and constructing the mosaic. Then the remainder of the day is yours to explore tools and materials while making your own personal mosaic artwork. You may bring your own SIMPLE design or design one based on a selection of patterns available. The second Saturday you’ll wrap up your creation by grouting and finishing your piece. This class is open to ages 14 through adult and we’ll take a max of just six students. Masks and social distancing are required in this and all Sawtooth classes.
