Beginners learn the basic techniques of throwing on the wheel along with related glazing techniques. Students with experience can refine their throwing skills while exploring new forms and design possibilities.
Ages: 13 - Adult

  • 9 Mondays, 7/20 - 9/21, 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm (skip 9/27)
  • Students enrolled in ceramics classes and workshops may use the studio during non-class hours for the duration of their class.
  • Class fees include the first 25 pounds of clay and related glazing and firing. Students will need a basic pottery tool kit. A limited number of pottery tool kits are available for loan beginning on your first day of class.

I LOVE CLAY! My work is mainly functional (plus a little funky). I had no idea that my 1985 Beginning Wheelthrowing class at Sawtooth would lead to the life of a full-time potter filled with clay and joy. My pots especially like texture, stamping and slip decoration.
