Join FPP founder Michael Raso , co-hosts Leslie Lazenby, Mat Marrash, Mark O’Brien and special guest Joseph Brunjes for an exciting weekend of workshops and activities covering a range of film photography topics including large format, wet plate, home development, low ISO films and much more. Try new products, exchange ideas and test drive new skills with ardent film enthusiasts – maybe even win the raffle! Bring your favorite film cameras and film or test new FPP products available from our pop-up store.

Activities begin with a 5:00pm Friday evening meet-and-greet, with workshops 9am-6pm workshops Saturday and Sunday 10am-noon. Join us for this one-of-a-kind celebration of film in North Carolina’s renowned City of the Arts!
Attendance is limited to 100 persons.

EVENT OVERVIEW
Friday, June 5, 5-7pm, Meet ‘n Greet
Sign in and collect your name tag, itinerary, grab bag and tickets for Saturday morning’s raffle, then mingle with other photographers over complementary appetizers and soft drinks. Peruse new FPP branded products and more at the FPP Pop-up Retail Store. And for those of drinking age, award-winning local brewers Foothills Brewing are bringing the suds with a pop-up cash bar.

Saturday, June 6, 9am – 6pm, Workshops
Fuel up with complimentary coffee, then cast your raffle ticket and join a group photo shoot, kicking off an action-packed day of film photography demonstrations and workshops. With plenty of great restaurants in the area, we’ll have recommendations for those who’d like to gather for dinner.

Sunday, June 7, 9:30am-2pm
Winston-Salem is the home of Krispy Kreme donuts, so we’ll be celebrating the local flavor before Sunday’s presentations with complementary coffee and Krispy Kremes! Time and weather permitting, we'll be walking off those calories during a Sunday Photo Walk.

Raso, Michael

Film Photography Project founder Michael Raso is a photographer, producer and filmmaker working professionally in the visual arts for over 25 years. After studying cinematography under Czech cinematographer Bedrich Batka and cutting his teeth at Comcast specializing in commercial production, Michael began producing and shooting independent films. Michael continues his pursuits in film with Film Media, his motion picture film preservation company in Fair Lawn, NJ.

Brunjes, Joseph

Joseph Brunjes is a Wilmington, NC native who specializes in fine art large format portraiture both on film and tintype. Joseph received his photographic training from the International Center of Photography, and the Center for Alternative Photography, both in New York City. He first learned film photography from his father, John Henry Brunjes, III, while in middle school. He has been a frequent guest on the Film Photography Podcast and the Large Format Photography Podcast. He currently teaches wet plate collodion and large format photography at the Sawtooth School for Visual Art in Winston-Salem, NC.

Lazenby, Leslie

Among her many areas of expertise, Polaroid transfer artist Leslie Lazenby brings her broad knowledge base as a film industry insider with a specialty in Kodak films and darkroom processing to aspiring photographers through her role as long-time co-host of the Film Photography Project.

Marrash, Matt

When not teaching workshops and selling gear at Midwest Photo, Mat shares his expertise and passion for large format photography and alternative process and more through his role as Co-Host of the Film Photography Podcast.

O'Brien, Mark

A life-long film shooter, Mark is committed to keeping film alive by mentoring, experimentation, and engagement with the film community. He's well-versed with almost any SLR system, and is an ardent user of Nikons in his photographic work. His photographic subjects are varied, but nature and documentary photography are his most common themes.
