In this workshop students will learn how to take advantage of both light and shadow to create brilliant and unique portraits. This workshop will emphasize making the most of available light in photography. Johnson will also divulge her tips to making the subject more comfortable in front of the camera. Students will leave with more confidence in how to create a strong portrait using available light. Class takers should have a general proficiency of their camera functions, including manual mode.

  • Students must own a DSLR camera or a cellphone with a good camera.
Johnson, Ashley

Ashley Johnson is a photographer, serial hobbyist and creative entrepreneur from Winston-Salem. Johnson is a UNCG graduate who studied English and Media Studies with concentrations in Journalism and Screenwriting. She has been shooting digital and film for over 12 years! Her strength is in building, beautiful and powerful images using just a few tools at your fingertips and the diversity of natural sunlight.
