A Sawtooth/Mixxer Partnership!
This one-day workshop will introduce the students to the basics of cutting, brazing and welding ferrous and non-ferrous metal using an oxy-acetelyn torch. Various techniques will be covered, and everyone will come away with an in-class project fabricated from scrap metal. Bring your own metal, or choose from choice scrap collected by the instructor! Duncan has been sculpting for over 30 years, and has created several large-scale outdoor public sculptures and fountains in Winston-Salem. He works in wood, metal, stone, clay and concrete. He maintains a foundry, and has taught at Penland, WSSU and Salem College. www.duncanglewis.com
