Learn the ancient art of Chase and Repousse! Utilize the malleable quality of copper to create a sculptural relief with simple hand tools and a little heat. For practice in this class we will learn how to sculpt a delicate pair of wings that can be used in any jewelry design. All skill levels welcome! Students will pay a fee to the instructor at the start of class which includes all materials and use of tool kits for the duration of the class, approx. $30.

Harvell, Sarah

Sarah was born and raised in the Appalachian Mountains of Floyd, Virginia and now resides in Winston-Salem, NC. She earned her BFA from Radford University in 2013 where she majored in Jewelry and Metalsmithing with an emphasis in fabrication and lost wax casting. In 2016 she received her MFA in Metal Design from East Carolina University with a focus on shell forming and color on metal. In 2018, she launched Ravena Metalworks – a collection of one-of-a-kind, limited edition jewelry and small sculpture.
