Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of making comics and how to use digital programs in their workflow. Students will use Adobe Photoshop and Clip Studio Paint ( Manga Studio), and Huion drawing monitors and pens to create their comics. Students will leave the class having created a one page comic from start to finish. A basic knowledge of computers, drawing tablets and Photoshop is helpful, but not necessary to take the class.

Lopes, Natalia

Natalia is a queer Latinx illustrator making queer horror art, comics, and zines. She has a Masters in Art and Design from NC State University's College of Design, with a concentration on animation and visual storytelling. She runs MystoPress, a micropress that is home to her eerie and nightmarish works, and has been funding her comics on Kickstarter as of 2019. When she is not freelancing or working on new projects, she teaches classes to teens and adults in non-profit art centers around North Carolina.
