An introduction on the principles of flash photography. This 5 week class explores how to use speedlites with a DSLR, and how to get the most out of an on-camera flash. The fundamentals of lighting for photography and how to apply them to flash photography are covered here, with demonstrations of lights, accessories and off camera flash options.

Dickson-Yarbrough, Katie

Katie is a full-time, photojournalistic photographer based in Winston-Salem, NC. She received her BFA in Photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design and has been perfecting her craft in the field. Katie works mainly as portrait photographer creating headshots for local acting talent and business professionals. She also photographs families, weddings, and editorial assignments. For two years, Katie has been an instructor for the University of North Carolina School of the Arts summer program teaching portrait photography and lighting. http://www.katiedickson.com
