Ruth Stevens is a retired professor of Legal Studies at Grand Valley State University, where she taught Women and the Law among other Legal Studies courses. She earned a J.D. from the University of Michigan and a Master's in library and information science from Wayne State University. Stevens is currently President of the Greater Grand Rapids Women’s History Council. She has presented frequently on topics related to women's suffrage and early female attorneys in West Michigan.
