22-Online-Jesus Prepares for His Death and Departure
Fall or Spring Course | Registration opens 1/5/2026 6:00 AM EST
As Jesus prepares for his final departure from this world, he not only has “final words” for the world, but he is eager to prepare his disciples for his absence and the tragedy of the cross. We will study John 12-15 and watch Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, his prophetic anointing for burial in Bethany, and hear his last words to Jerusalem’s leaders. Suddenly the scene will shift to the privacy of the upper room and Jesus will share his final meal with his followers, wash their feet, speak of his departure and return, and provide a short sermon on the grape vine, one of Israel’s oldest images of itself. This class is a continuation of our study of the Gospel of John from previous semesters. All are invited to join even if you are new.
