Come learn more about the fascinating and ultimately tragic story of Mary, Queen of Scots (1542-1587), from her early years as a royal princess in Scotland and France to her return to Scotland as queen in 1561. Find out about her ill-fated marriages and her challenging relationship with Elizabeth I, Queen of England – all this in the context of the tumultuous years of the Reformation in Scotland and England. This course will feature lectures, short readings, video clips, and discussion.

Since 1997 Karin Maag has been the director of the H. Henry Meeter Center for Calvin Studies, one of the world’s foremost collections of works on or by John Calvin. She currently serves as adjunct faculty at Calvin Theological Seminary, teaching classes on church history and research methods. She has taught courses for CALL since 2000.
