Tyson Moore is the Assistant Director of Campus Safety at Calvin University. He retired in 2023 as a Sergeant with the Kent County Sheriff’s Office after 25 years of service. During his tenure he worked as a corrections deputy at the Kent County Jail, a road patrol deputy, a road patrol field training officer, and an EMT specialist in the E-Unit responding to medical calls. He also served as a detective in the Family Services and General Case units, a road patrol sergeant, and a road patrol field training supervisor. Tyson was responsible for training numerous police officers and fellow sergeants. Prior to his law enforcement career, he worked as a security supervisor at Blodgett Hospital before any mergers. Tyson is married and has four daughters, one of whom attends Calvin University.
