This class, held at Calvin’s Ecosystem Preserve and Native Gardens, will focus on native gardening at your home. We will learn about plants that naturally grow nearby and discover how to plan, install, and maintain a garden of these plants around our homes. We will go from the ground up by covering healthy soil, healthy plants, healthy pollinators, and healthy gardening habits.

Tom Hartzell serves as the Program Coordinator at the Calvin Nature Preserve. He has worked in environmental education for over 12 years, including emphasis on native plants and gardening. He enjoys gardening at home—both for food and for the beauty of native plants!
