Understanding the Dynamics of Organizations
Public Management | Available
This course will focus on public leadership and management skill building and provide real life tools needed for meeting leadership challenges in Oregon state government. Students will work through management scenarios to learn how to think on their feet, be able to present complex information to legislators and policy makers, and learn how to build the right tools to deal with challenging emotions and stress to do hard things. The class will have a mix of traditional didactic teaching as well as individual and group projects. Students will need to be ready to work with others and come prepared to actively participate in the sessions. The instructor will use current policy, management, and budget challenges to allow students to work on real-world problems.
