Despite the biblical injunction against the making of graven images, the Jewish people have been creating objects of material culture since ancient times. From intricate mosaics of the Roman Empire to contemporary Israeli art, come along on this journey of Jewish art through the ages. Abby Schwartz is an art historian who was Director and currently serves at Curatorial Consultant for the Skirball Museum at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion.
